Dr. Michael Day grew up in Arlington, TX. After graduating from Lamar high school, he attended the University of Tennessee, where he earned a degree in Biology. After college Michael returned to the DFW area to attend the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He completed his residency at Brown University and Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence, RI. Michael did his cardiology fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. During his training he served as Chief Resident and received the Haffenrefer Award as the outstanding pediatric resident. During fellowship he was honored with the Fellow teaching award and was selected as Chief Fellow.
Dr. Day is board certified in pediatric cardiology. He has presented research papers at national meetings and contributed to a number of publications. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology and the Texas Medical Association. His clinical interests include fetal echocardiography, young athletes, and lipid disorders.
Michael and his wife Lynne have 4 little boys: Charlie, Joey, Sam, and William. Michael and his family are all big sports fans, and Michael is an avid golfer. Michael and Lynne are both active in their church and in their children’s schools.
